I have been cooking since I was a kid, and have been a professional chef for the last 10 years. I trained for 6 years under the amazing Lucia Watson, and I have to give her a shout out because she really instilled in me a deep and abiding love of seasonal, local and sustainable eating. This is me outside our house with the latest haul from our garden!

I believe that food is inherently sensual and that cooking can be a wonderfully engaging process for our senses, from appreciating the beauty of a perfectly ripe tomato to the intoxicating aroma of freshly baked bread. I also love to take pictures of food, and of myself with food.

I am a big believer in having fun while I cook, and I have specific processes around how I mentally and physically prepare myself and my space-- from what music I listen to, to pre-cleaning the kitchen so I can have a clean slate when I start cooking....warming both myself and the kitchen up for all the action to come! Take that, dirty surfaces!

I take my friends seriously. Community Cooking is only as strong as its attendants, so I am always filled with gratitude for all the folks who show up, week after week, ready to cook and have fun working together....go Team Awesome! This website is dedicated to all of you. xoxoxoox
